All the jewellery Kate Middleton owns from Diana’s collection – including THAT priceless sapphire engagement ring

PRINCESS Diana had one of the most impressive jewellery boxes filled with diamonds and Kate Middleton has been lucky enough to inherit many of the pieces.

Both Kate and Meghan have worn precious jewels previously owned by their late mum-in-law – which is exactly as Diana would have wanted.

Before her death, Diana wrote a “letter of wishes”, which explained what she would like to happen to her glittering collection in the future.

It stated: “I would like you to allocate all my jewellery to the share to be held by my sons, so that their wives may, in due course, have it or use it.

“I leave the exact division of the jewellery to your discretion."

Here are some of the times Kate has paid tribute to Diana…

Diamond and South Sea Pearl Earrings

Kate looked every inch a princess when she debuted Diana’s stunning diamond and pearl earrings at the Baftas in 2019 in London.

The elegant pair were among Diana’s favourite pieces of jewellery and she previously wore them with and without the detachable pearls.

The earrings feature various cuts of diamonds, with a cluster of marquise-cut stones in the centre, and a suspended pearl.

Sapphire engagement ring

Kate’s ring is arguably the most iconic in the royal family, having previously belonged to Princess Diana.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced their engagement in 2010, with Prince William, 38, proposing with his mother’s ring in Kenya.

Estimated to be worth around £300,000, the 18 carat white gold band features a 12 carat oval blue sapphire, surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds.

Sapphire earring set

Along with the stunning sapphire engagement ring, William also gave Kate some earrings after he proposed in 2010.

The sapphire earrings were originally a double drop set, but Kate took the bottom sapphire, which is surrounded by nine diamonds.

The double drop pair was originally given to Diana as a wedding gift as part of a suite of jewels from Crown Prince Fahd of Saudi Arabia.

Her new single drop set is one of her most worn pairs and often seen during glittering events.

Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara

Also known as the Queen Mary Lover's Knot Tiara, the Queen loaned this piece to Diana as a wedding gift.

Despite opting not to wear it on her wedding day, Diana was a big fan of this tiara – which went back into the Queen's collection after her death.

The Duchess of Cambridge first wore the tiara in 2016.

Three Strand Pearl Bracelet

Kate also frequently wears Diana’s Three Strand Pearl Bracelet, which was designed by Nigel Milne in 1988.

It was created in support of Birthright, a charity Diana was patron of which supports mothers and babies.

The beautiful bracelet, which Kate first wore during a royal tour in Germany in 2017, has three rows of cultured pearls with diamond and pearl sections.

Collingwood Pearl Earrings

Princess Diana was given these breathtaking pearl earrings as a wedding gift from Collingwood jewelers.

She would wear them with the Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara, like Kate does, as the pearl drops match the tiara’s design.

While Diana wore them for the first time a month before her wedding to Prince Charles, Kate first wore them for a Spanish state banquet in 2017.
