adidas Originals' "Gaming Pack" Brings 8-Bit Graphics to Old School Superstars

The Superstar is, naturally, the star of the show for adidas Originals. Presented in premium full-grain white leather, the pair combines classic elements such as its rubber shell toe with updated graphics, seeing its zig-zag cut Three Stripes overlayed with an 8-bit video game design in RGBK and gray colors. Contrasting this is the traditional adidas Originals Trefoil on the tongue and heel, while rounding out its design is an 8-bit-printed insole.

For the Ozweego, NMD_R1 and ZX 2K BOOST, adidas Originals takes a more subtle approach. For the former, “Collegiate Navy” and “Cloud White” colors have been used for the upper and adiPRENE-equipped midsole respectively, while HD, 3D-style graphics appear on the toe, heel cup, and around the edges of the shoe at areas like the eyestay placket.

Similarly, the “Core Black” NMD_R1 puts its HD and 3D graphics to use most predominantly on the heel clip and on the stripe that runs the width of the shoe’s vamp. Rounding out the “Gaming Pack” is the adidas Originals ZX 2K BOOST, which combines “Cloud White” and “Collegiate Navy” tones with more of the same 3D graphics found on the other two pairs, this time around placing it on the mid-panel and heel.
