THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL Remixes Vintage 65/35 Mountain Parka for monkey time

Of all the projects undertaken by The North Face‘s Goldwin-operated Japanese branch, THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL is perhaps the best-known and most desired across the globe. In Japan, it’s almost as accessible as mainline goods, with a variety of special retailers receiving exclusive seasonal items every year — for Spring/Summer 2021, monkey time is taking its turn, as the UNITED ARROWS imprint takes stock of two old-school pieces of outerwear.

Having partnered for some covetable Fall/Winter 2020 goods, this drop sees the duo zeroing in on a single style: the 65/35 Mountain Parka. Indebted to the N-2B military parka, this take on the staple silhouette is crafted from TNFPL’s signature Bay Head cotton cloth, which is lightweight but appropriate for sprinkles of rain. It’s rendered in a special short length and realized in black with white contrast stitching and light gray, which both boast chunky white buttons, deep pockets and oversized, adjustable hood.

The special THE NORTH FACE PURPLE LABEL 65/35 Mountain Parka is available for pre-order on UNITED ARROWS’ web store for ¥35,200 JPY (approximately $330 USD).

Meanwhile, the Western branch of The North Face recently introduced a seasonal set of EQBC Slide Sandals.
