Seiko, Japan’s largest watchmaker, and American lifestyle brand Rowing Blazers unite to bring forth a collection of three Seiko 5 watches.
The watches were designed by Rowing Blazers’ founder and creative director Jack Carlson in collaboration with the creative team at Seiko. Out of the three watches, two are limited editions of 500 pieces and one is a special edition.
Each watch features the Rowing Blazers logo on the dial and comes in a steel case with Rowing Blazers’ signature zig-zag pattern, a bracelet and a substitute nylon military strap. Each watch also has a special case back adorned with one of Rowing Blazers’ “house codes” and a contemplative skeleton as “a reminder that time flies.”
“The bezels are the really distinctive thing about the three watches,” Carlson said in a press release. “I wanted this capsule to be understated, subtle — but also fun.”
One watch features a “rally” bezel — an homage to Seiko’s vintage pieces — while another features a four-color red-blue-yellow-green bezel. The final watch has a zig-zag bezel, a tribute to one of Rowing Blazers’ most recognizable motifs.
The watches retail for $495 USD each and will be available on Rowing Blazers‘ and Seiko’s websites from Thursday, June 17. Each watch also comes with a limited-edition “dad hat” featuring the Seiko logo on the front and Rowing Blazers logo on the back.
