Piers Morgan stands outside Number 10 after grilling Rishi Sunak

Piers Morgan has teased a few details about his upcoming explosive interview with prime minister Rishi Sunak.

The former Good Morning Britain host, 57, announced he would be grilling the Tory leader on Wednesday for his TalkTV show, Uncensored.

On Thursday, the controversial broadcaster shared an update with his Instagram followers, revealing the conversation had wrapped.

Morgan, who was wearing a blue tie, possibly a nod toward the Conservative party, posed outside Number 10 in the snap posted on social media.

He wrote: ‘BREAKING: Interview over.. and it was brilliant.

‘Prime Minister @rishisunakmp as you’ve never heard him – on nurses, love, taxes, royals, gender, immigration, and lightsabers (?).

‘His longest-ever TV interview.. tune into @piersmorganuncensored at 8pm. #PiersandthePM.’

The interview, which will air tonight, coincides with the PM’s 100th day in office at Downing Street, after taking over from his predecessor Liz Truss following her 44-day tenure.

Morgan, while he was still on GMB, had been due to interview then-prime minister Boris Johnson and was enraged when the disgraced politician backed out.

Morgan said it was ‘disgraceful’ that Johnson was ‘refusing’ to go on the show amid the coronavirus pandemic, claiming the ‘cowardly’ government were choosing ‘soft-soap interviews’ so they don’t have to face ‘tough questioning.’

After the party gate scandal emerged, Johnson resigned as PM and was replaced by Truss.

However, she was only in office for a month and a half before her resignation, having previously gone up against Sunak in her bid for the position.

Becoming the shortest-serving PM in British history, Truss said in her resignation speech: ‘I cannot deliver the mandate on which I was elected by the Conservative Party.’

Sunak formally assumed office in October 2022, and recently sacked Nadhim Zahawi as Conservative Party chairman amid a multimillion-pound tax row

Piers Morgan Uncensored will air on TalkTV tonight, Thursday, February 2, at 8pm.
