Michael Dupouy has been a historian of streetwear culture since 2006 through his ALL GONE book series to celebrate the launch of his newest 2021 issue — whose cover comes graced with Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT imagery — he’s introducing his fifth footwear collaboration with New Balance. For this team-up, he’s also brought in James Dridi from PaperBoy Paris and together, they have all crafted a vivid 991 colorway. This special moment circles back to 2006 — the very year that he joined hands with Sarah Andelman‘s Colette for a collaborative New Balance 1500.
Titled the “New Balance AGPPB” colorway, the shoes come accessorized with brighter neutral tones and vivid accents. Vibrant pastel tones take charge here on the overlays in the form of bright pig suede pink which reference the most recent ALL GONE cover, while the extra overlays atop the collars, toe boxes and heels contrast with a muted tan. Paperboy Paris logos furnish the tongues, an the N logos are doused with an olive green coating. Additionally, the heel branding splits between the word “ALL” on the left shoe and “GONE” on the right side to further honor the book, and the shoes come is special branded boxes.
Dupouy has confirmed that he was only able to produce a limited amount of pairs that were released through a special “magic card” in-store release drawing at the Paperboy Paris restaurant.
