If you’ve ever been to a show where Kanye West is the main act, then you know that he doesn’t mess around when it comes to his visuals and stage production. We’ve seen this from the mountain he brought on the Yeezus Tour to the floating stage on the Saint Pablo Tour to the grassy hill he built for Sunday Service at Coachella and more recently his levitating act that he delivered at his last DONDA listening event in Atlanta. Now, Ye is bringing another listening party to Chicago and it appears that he’s recreating his childhood home for the festivities at Soldier Field on August 26.
Given that his next album title is inspired by his late mother and this next performance will be hosted in the very city that he spent much of his upbringing and early parts of his music career in, this makes perfect sense. It also comes as no surprise as on August 21, 2021, the creative genius took to Instagram to post an image of this house, which we now know was foreshadowing for what is going to transpire at the show.
For context, his mother Donda West bought the house in the 1980s and sold it in 2004, but West bought it back for $225,000 USD last year. See images here below to see the progress that his team has made thus far on the build-out.
