Bobby Shmurda Says He Has ”Mixed Emotions” About Being Released From Prison

Bobby Shmurda was released from prison earlier this year after the Time Allowance Committee reviewed the rapper’s behavior during his time in prison, later deciding that he was eligible for a conditional release after six years. Though that’s the case, Shmurda is still on parole until 2026.

The rapper recently shared on an interview with Desus & Mero how he was feeling post-prison, explaining that he is curious to about everything once again. When asked about his present mindset Shmurda said, “Honestly, it’s mixed emotions. Some days is work, and some days it’s like, man, I’m home. You know when you can’t believe you’re home? I done came home before but this time it was like, I’m home. You know. what I’m saying? I’m home. When you come home, you gotta see everything and what’s what. What’s this? What’s that? That’s what’s really been going on. I’m trying to see what’s this and what’s that before you move cause being in jail just made me smarter. I used to move off a lot of impulses.”

While many fans have been quick to criticize how long it has taken for the artist to release new music since his prison release, his response tells audiences that he is still soaking in what it is like to be a free man. Shmurda recently debuted a new song at Rolling Loud, marking his first performance since prison. Shmurda is also slated to join Justin Bieber and Lil Baby at JAY-Z’s 2021 Made in America Festival.

In other music news, Isaiah Rashad has released the tracklist for his latest The House is Burning album.
