Shaun Ryder reveals two stone transformation after controversial weight loss jab

Shaun Ryder has opened up about his weight-loss journey, revealing that he's lost two stone since taking the controversial weight-loss jab Ozempic.

After opening up about suffering from an under-active thyroid, the Happy Mondays star, 60, added that it was his return to I'm A Celebrity for the show's special all-stars series that made him realise he need to lose weight.

Shaun shared the revelations in his first interview following his elimination from I'm A Celebrity… South Africa, which was pre-recorded in September and saw the musician axed from the show alongside Gillian McKeith after they failed a trial.

Reflecting on his time in the jungle, Shaun said that struggled in part due to his ill-health.

He told The Sun: “Being 60 with hip problems, thyroid problems, f**king testosterone problems and everything else. People have noticed I don't have any f**king eyebrows and eyelashes, from my alopecia.

"Basically, you know, the jungle slapped me right across the face and said calm down mate."

Shaun continued: "I think I was 16 stone and now I'm down to 14 because of them jabs you stick in your belly, that they say the Kardashians are on? Ozempic. I've been on them and I’ve lost two stone."

He added that losing weight has allowed him to take up cycling again, which helps him stay clean from drugs.

Shaun certainly isn't the only famous face to slim down with the use of Ozempic, with Elon Musk, Jeremy Clarkson, and Chelsea Handler all revealing that they too have used the drug to lose weight.

And while the Kardashians are rumoured to have used the drug, Khloe previously hit out at these claims.

After the star posted a photo to Instagram, one user of the social media app commented: "The fact that she uses diabetic medicine to get this skinny is disturbing."

Hitting back at this, Khloe replied: "Let's not discredit my years of working out. I get up 5 days a week at 6am to train. Please stop with your assumptions. I guess new year still means mean people."

And Khloe's sister Kim was also accused of using Ozempic, when she famously lost 16lb in three weeks to fit into an iconic Marilyn Monroe dress for the Met Gala in May 2022.

She was left devastated when she didn't fit into the dress, which couldn't be altered, at a fitting prior to the event, and so she embarked on a "strict" diet and exercise regime to do so.

She said: "I would wear a sauna suit twice a day, run on the treadmill, completely cut out all sugar and all carbs, and just eat the cleanest veggies and protein. I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict."
