Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor has only been around for about a week, but he’s already smoothly fit into the Sussexes’ family life. Prince Harry gushed over his and Meghan Markle’s son during a visit to Oxford Children’s Hospital today, saying he “can’t imagine life” without his son.
“He said he’s getting used to the baby and how Archie has fitted into family life,” mother Amy Scullard, who met the Duke of Sussex today, told royal correspondents. “He said he just feels part of the family and he can’t imagine life without his son.”
Harry did, however, admit that little Archie kept him up last night, according to royal reporters Rebecca English of the Daily Mail and Royah Nikkah.
His older brother, Prince William, had already warned him about the lack of sleep. Last week after Archie was born, he joked, “I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my own brother into the sleep deprivation society that is parenting.”
The Duke of Sussex has been sharing sweet words about his and Meghan’s new addition ever since they welcomed him on May 6. In an interview after the delivery, Harry said of their child’s birth, “It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever possibly imagine.”
He continued to sing praises when he, Meghan, and Archie made their debut as a family last Wednesday. “It has only been what, two and a half, three days,” the duke said. “We are just so thrilled to have our own bundle of joy and to be able to spend some precious time as he slowly starts to grow up.”
