The presenter’s birthday celebrations come after he left the ITV morning show after five years.

Piers sparked over 51,000 Ofcom complaints for comments he made about Meghan Markle.

The father-of-four said he didn’t believe a word the Duchess of Sussex said as she discussed her life in the Royal Family with Oprah Winfrey.

Meghan said she had suicidal thoughts and feared being left on her own during the interview.

She and husband Prince Harry also said an unnamed member of the family had concerns about how dark their son Archie’s skin colour would be.

In his most recent column with the Daily Mail online, Piers said he still stood by his comments.

Defending claims his treatment towards Meghan is racially motivated, he wrote: “I’ve never said a single thing about Meghan Markle that could possibly be construed as racist, either in print or on television.

“In fact, the only time I’ve ever mentioned her race has been to repeatedly say how great it was that a bi-racial woman was marrying into the very white British royal family.”

He went on to say: “I’ve been equally critical of Harry for his own ludicrous antics and he’s white.”
