Paul McCartney will headline the Pyramid Stage on Saturday night of next year’s Glastonbury Festival.
With the performance on June 27, 2020, McCartney will become the oldest headliner ever at the Glastonbury Festival.
This is the second time that McCartney is headlining the Festival. The previous performance was in 2004.
“Hey Glasto – excited to be part of your Anniversary celebrations. See ya next summer,” said the Beatles legend.
McCartney had teased the performance on Twitter, accompanied by pictures of composer Philip Glass, actor Emma Stone and rock ‘n’ roll great Chuck Berry.
Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis said that having McCartney coming back to headline the Pyramid Stage for the second time next year is an absolute dream come true.
“There really was no one that we wanted more for the 50th anniversary,” Eavis added.
Diana Ross had already been confirmed for the festival, as the Sunday teatime “legend” performance on the Pyramid Stage.
