Martin Roberts, 57, hosts his #AskMartinMonday weekly where fans can submit their questions on Twitter for his expert opinion. This week the TV presenter answered a hilarious query from one of his followers after they claimed that Richard Osman owed them £1000.
I hear he is paranoid
The follower shared with Martin a tweet from Richard Osman, which read: “£1000 to the first person to reply to this tweet.”
Underneath the post, the Twitter user had edited their user handle in response and hoped they would be able to claim the offered money sum.
Unfortunately Richard had not seen the reply and the user decided to take matters into their own hands.
They typed to the Homes Under The Hammer presenter: “Hi Martin, will you help me with Richard Osman paying through grand he owes me? If you help him cough up I’ll give you 10%.” (sic)
Martin decided to play along with the prank and replied: “I hear he is paranoid about goldfish.
“So threaten to secretly start placing goldfish bowls around his work and home. He’ll soon cough up the dosh! @richardosman.” (sic)
The fan responded amusingly: “Thanks Martin. I actually breed goldfish for the aquatic version of Crufts so have plenty of fish spare. Hopefully he realises the error of his ways soonish and coughs up. #payclattadhisgrand.” (sic)
Previously Martin has appeared on a special celebrity edition of Pointless which resulted in a crude innuendo being made his way.
Richard was initially thrilled to have the property expert appear on the show, as it united two of the most popular daytime shows on the BBC.
The Pointless host said: “Lovely to have you all here. I’m especially delighted to have Martin here. I’ve wanted him to come on for such a long time.
“The two great houses of BBC daytime television – Pointless and Homes Under The Hammer – finally, finally married.”
A big fan of the property series which Martin presents, talk between Richard and his co-host Alexander Armstrong turned to their favourite moments from the show.

Richard said season three was a particular highlight for him, quipping: “No spoilers… but goodness me, there is a semi in Barnsley you want to see!”
This prompted a round of laughter from the studio at the hilarious innuendo.
However, Martin did not fare well on the show as he was out in the first round of the quiz show.
Recently the DIY guru has spoken out on his experience in lockdown when all of his career commitments came to a halt.
He exclusively told Express.co.uk: “Everything that I do stopped. So you know, I do Homes Under The Hammer, that stopped.
“I do property training courses, which is often people getting in a room, and I do holiday lets, and they stopped.
“Also I do property renovations and things like that. For a while, they stopped, and then when they resumed, you couldn’t get the basic necessities like plaster.
“So you know everything I was doing came to a halt,” he finished.
