Mark Wright urges his fans to ‘stay safe’ after his family and close friends contract coronavirus

After some of his family and friends contracted coronavirus, Mark Wright has issued a warning to his followers to keep safe after the new variant of the virus continues to spread.

The Heart radio host, who gave a glimpse into his very festive living room, took to Twitter to share his views about the new mutant variation and urged everyone to be aware.

Mark wrote: "The government have of course explained how fast this new variant is spreading, but I think it is hard to understand quite how fast.

"I cannot stress how many people I know, from immediate family to best friends and distant friends who currently have covid. It's rife. Stay safe," the 33 year old expressed.

Mark's loyal followers responded to his tweet and commented on how it's been affecting them or those close to them.

"Absolutely I never knew anyone in the first wave now I know a lot thankfully all mild symptoms or none at all, we have hope now. Stay safe #tier4," a follower commented.

A second added: "Yes Mark lost a few friends all ready, I know quite bad in Essex, stay safe, happy new year."

"So true! Hoping you and your family stay safe and well! This virus is horrific x," a third follower wrote.

The former TOWIE star's message comes after he was forced to spend Christmas away from the rest of his family.

Mark's mum Carol took to Instagram to express her sadness over the family not being able to be together.

Alongside a snap of the entire family, the 60 year old matriarch, who left TOWIE in 2017, shared: "Merry Christmas to my world. Who would of thought this year would of been a weird one.

"In 60 years of my life I have only sat around a table of 12 to 30 people as I come from a big family.

"This year I have a table of 3, which saddens me so much," she heartbreakingly revealed.

Choosing to see the positive side of it, Carol added: "But we have to realise we are lucky to have not lost a loved one this year.

"To anyone that has a loved one suffering the virus or who is unwell, we will get thru this and we will all be back together soon." [sic]
