Strictly Come Dancing professional Katya Jones, 32, has taken to Instagram to share a video of a special person in her life. It comes after the Russian dancer revealed she will be forced to celebrate the New Year without her loved ones.

The star, who competed in Strictly 2021 with Olympian Adam Peaty, 27, posted a video of her talented brother playing Metallica’s Nothing Else Matters on acoustic guitar in view of her 205,000 followers.

Alongside the clip, Katya wrote: “My brother plays guitar and sings his daughters to sleep

“He is so incredibly talented, plays multiple instruments and can do pretty much anything.

“I remember he taught me to play this song when I was younger.

“We have a very special bond.

“And this just made me realise how much I actually miss him.”

To complete her emotional Instagram Story post, Katya added a broken heart emoji.

Katya’s admission was shared just after she opened up on her sadness over not being able to reunite with her family who live in Russia.

The Strictly favourite, who split from ex-husband and fellow pro dancer Neil Jones in 2019, previously posted a video of a decorated Christmas tree from home which she wouldn’t get a chance to see in the flesh.

Katya wrote: “Beautiful tree back home in Russia.

“Won’t be home this year for the New Year,” followed by a crying face emoji.

The Strictly star has work commitments in the UK, which could explain why she is unable to travel home to Russia.

Katya will reportedly spend her New Year’s Eve doing a meet and greet session with fans at King George’s Hall in Blackburn.

Covid travel restrictions could also be a factor in her decision.

Katya has been busy during the festive season in her role as the Evil Queen in the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs pantomime.

The brunette beauty recently gushed over her sold-out performances.

“You can boooo me as much as you like! But I won’t stop singing (kinda) and dancing!” Katya wrote on social media.

“I don’t know why, but I just love Panto so much.

“I played a fairy before, but playing a baddie is soooo much fun!
