Kevin Clifton: Stacey Dooley’s Strictly partner ‘back in the saddle’ after his big news

The Strictly Come Dancing professional, 36, joined the BBC show back in 2013, having previously performed with live dance show Burn the Floor. Last year, it was confirmed Kevin Clifton would be returning to the show for its UK tour beginning next month. Now, the Grimsby-born dancer, who lifted the Glitterball trophy for the first time with his celebrity partner Stacey Dooley, 32, in December, is back in rehearsals as he prepares to take to the stage again. Sharing a behind-the-scenes picture with his 229,000 twitter followers yesterday, he could be seen practising a dance move with a female performer.

“Back in the saddle,” Kevin captioned the upload.

The official Burn the Floor Twitter account also gave fans a sneak peek at what they could expect from Kevin’s return, sharing a series of snaps with their 5,000 followers showing him rehearsing with another female pro.

One shot saw Kevin dancing with his Strictly co-star Graziano Di Prima, 24, who will also be taking part in the Burn the Floor tour.

Meanwhile, fans shared their excitement to see Kevin in the show once again, with one tweeting: “Don’t mind me just selling all my belongings so I can actually get a ticket before they sell out.”

“So looking forward to it,” another added, revealing they had tickets to two shows on the tour.

“Can’t wait! See you in Grimsby,” a third commented, while a fourth chipped in: “Tickets all booked to see it in Birmingham. Looks amazing!”

Burn the Floor kicks off April 18 and runs until Jun 8, with the final show taking place in Kevin’s hometown of Grimsby.

The Strictly fan favourite made the final of the beloved BBC dance show four times before finally winning with Stacey last year.

He and the documentary filmmaker became firm friends during their time on the series.

Stacey previously spoke out about her bond with Kevin during an interview with The Times Magazine, saying boyfriend of three years Sam Tucknott was supportive of their partnership.

“The truth is Kevin and I are brilliant friends and he’ll be my pal for life,” she said. “And Sam was probably the most supportive he has ever been.

“When I first got the gig, he was just so made up,” Stacey continued. “He was dancing around our living room. And every week he’d say, ‘Listen to Kevin. Kevin knows best.’ He was a dream.”

Elsewhere, reports emerged yesterday saying Stacey and Sam had split, with a source telling The Sun their lives had gone in “different directions”.

“Stacey confided in her friends that she was struggling to hold down her romance with Sam because her life has been a whirlwind after Strictly,” they said.

“She barely saw him during the month-long tour and has gone straight back to filming documentaries and has been travelling all over the world.

“They have a close circle of friends who hope things might yet work out but it’s not looking likely,” the insider added. “It was very emotional and has been tough on them both.”

According to the publication, when approached for comment about the reported split, Stacey said: “I don’t think I’ve got anything to say.” has contacted representatives for Stacey Dooley asking for comment.
