Jessica Simpson shows off her 100-pound weight loss in festive snap after fitness and diet overhaul

Singer Jessica Simpson has unveiled her 100-pound weight loss while sharing a Christmas day snap of herself.

The stunning blonde star dressed in a festive onesie in red and white patterns and a red beret with her red jogging bottoms rolled down to her knees.

Beaming from ear to ear, the 40 year old posed with her hands on her waist and told her 5.6 million followers: “So I thought Eric was taking a photo from the waist up…”

Jessica’s playful post was met by laughter from fans who commented amused emojis on the singing star’s post, while others were quick to gush over her figure.

“You so fit!!!” one fan wrote, while another added: “We all wanna know how did you get so skinny???” [sic]

A third penned: “How do you stay so thin? You look great,” and a fourth gushed: “I need your diet and exercise plan. ASAP.”

The gorgeous blonde star first showed off her 100-pound weight loss in a fashion campaign in 2019, wearing Daisy Dukes denim shorts.

Jessica gave birth to daughter Birdie in March 2019, then in September of the same year the star shared that she’d lost the baby weight.

But how did she achieve her fitness transformation?

Well, Jessica’s trainer, Harley Pasternak explained to E! news that the star had lost the weight the right way, through healthy eating and exercise – no horrible fad diets here!

He explained that he wanted to not just focus on Jessica losing the baby weight after the birth of her daughter, but also facilitate lifestyle changes that would enable her to stay healthy.

The main way he has got Jessica to shed the pounds is by walking 14,000 steps a day. The star built up to it by initially walking 6,000.

Harley explained to E! News: "It had to be more than just getting back from her baby weight, but how do I keep whatever I am doing now forever.

"That's why we are not a big fan of doing any extreme diet or radical forms of exercise.”

As for diet, the star has been eating three meals a day that are healthy and packed with protein, as well as two snacks.

Additionally, Harley explained that instead of cheat days the star is allowed several cheat meals throughout the week so she doesn’t have to go without her favourite foods. Sounds good to us!

The fitness expert also explained another important method for weight loss, that many might overlook, which is a good night’s sleep.

He said: "So many people undervalue the importance of sleep in weight loss and weight management.”
