Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck engaged 18 years after calling off their wedding

Jennifer Lopez appears to have announced her engagement toBen Affleck, 18 years after the couple called off their wedding.

The 52 year old shared the happy news in her online newsletter, On The JLo, on 8 April.

In a video sent to fans via the newsletter, the singer and actress showed off her green diamond ring as tears ran from her eyes.

Jennifer,whose 49 year old beau recently supported her at the iHeartRadio Awards, looked stunning as she opted for a cream cardigan and minimal makeup.

While showing off the sparkling ring, a visibly emotional JLo could be heard saying: “You’re perfect.”

The mum-of-two had previously teased a “Major announcement!” on social media where she explained: “So I have a really, um… exciting and special story to share.”

Following the revelation, the On The Floor singer added a ring emoji to her Twitter handle, where she has a whopping 45.2million followers.

The news comes after Jennifer sparked engagement rumours earlier on in the week after she waspictured sporting a stunning diamond on her ring finger.

The Hustlers actress, who shares 14 year old twins Maximilian and Emme with ex husband Marc Anthony, was spotted out shopping with a striking rock on her finger.

And earlier this year, during an interview on Heart Radio,Jennifer talked about her opinions on public proposals.

During the chat, host Dev Griffin asked her: “How do you feel about public displays of romance? Do you think it’s a dying art?”

She replied: “I love public displays of romance, I don’t know if I would love a proposal, I think that that’s a more intimate thing between two people. But I have no problem with PDA, like people say, I actually, I’m all about it!”

She added: “I do think that a proposal is kind of a sacred intimate thing, that should just be between two people, when you’re about to pledge your lives to each other, that’s a big deal.”

As one of the hottest couples of the noughties, Jennifer and Ben rekindled their relationship in May 2021, nearly 20 years after they were first in a relationship.

During their time together, the pair – affectionately nicknamed Bennifer – first got engaged in 2002, though they called time on their relationship in 2004.

While Jennifer went on to marry and have children with Marc, Hollywood actor Ben married Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.

However, after reuniting, the beloved couple have gone from strength to strength and have reportedly bought a lavish 10-bedroom mansion in Bel Air, LA, which is thought to be worth a staggering $55 million.
