ITV’s Saturday Morning host James Martin, 49, has fired back at claims he has changed in recent years after comments made about him during the Knives, Forks & Tunes podcast. The episode, entitled James Martin Live From Travelling Feast, was published on August 25.

I was cooking before you were even a tadpole

The podcast is hosted by Michellin star chef, Paul Ainsworth, 42, one of James’ good friends.

In the show, Paul talks to his guests about their fantasy dinner party.

James spoke about boats in the podcast, and this left Paul with the perfect window to annoy his friend.

Paul said: “When you were telling that boat story, as soon as you mentioned there’s another boat with the boat.

“You’ve changed.”

James was taken back and could not believe what he was hearing.

He responded: “What do you mean I’ve changed?”

They then laughed together, as Paul cited another reason the celebrity chef had changed, as he wanted taboo and lemonade at his fantasy dinner party.

The Saturday Kitchen chef hit back: “I was cooking before you were even a tadpole.

“I was always involved in the kitchen, what do you mean I’ve changed?

“You kids come along here in your bl***y shiny vans and your feasts, taking over the bl***y food world.

“Remember where it all came from, don’t forget about us lot.”

Paul was in hysterics, struggling to string a sentence together.

The chef quipped of their bickering: “This is like when we cook together.”

The pair are known for their arguments whilst cooking, especially when Paul takes part in Saturday Morning with James Martin on ITV.

In May, Paul told James how he had changed on his cooking show.

Paul said: “Supper? I was like, ‘James Martin’s changed’. It used to be tea when I met you.”

Since 2017, James has presented Saturday Morning with James Martin.

The show airs in the same time slot as his former BBC show Saturday Kitchen, which ran from 2006 unti 2016.

Saturday Morning with James Martin airs Saturday on ITV at 6.30am
