Former Strictly Come Dancing star James Jordan, 42, shared on Instagram that his dad Allan, 68, had died following a brain tumour. The dancer told his fans his dad had “became an angel” on the picture-sharing site over the weekend.
Ola, 38, has since revealed that her husband James was “struggling” prior to the news that his father had died.
In a candid interview, the professional dancer explained that the couple’s worlds were turned upside down after James’ dad was given just months to live.
Ola admitted during these tough times she has been a “shoulder to cry on” for her other half.
It comes after the couple welcomed their “miracle” baby Ella who was conceived after their IVF battle.
Speaking about their family turmoil, Ola explained: “Seeing a really healthy man deteriorate so much in a year has been shocking.
“James is really struggling because he’s very close to his dad.
“It’s been very emotional, but I’ve just got to be strong for him because I have a baby to look after.”
“All I can do is be a shoulder to cry on right now,” Ola continued to The Sun, before adding: “It’s a very difficult and sad time.”
Shortly after Ella’s birth in February last year, Allan was rushed to hospital three times after suffering strokes.
Last week James posted: “No one should have to go through what my family are watching my dad go through.
“I pray to God that you come soon and make him one of your angels.
“He has his bags packed and is ready to go and see his mum and dad again.”

On Saturday, the Dancing On Ice champion told fans: “My dad became an angel at 8.05am.
“I will forever miss him. My dad will always be my hero. RIP daddy.”
Allan was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour last year.
During an interview on Loose Women earlier this month, the dancer said it was heartbreaking not being able to spend quality time with his dad during lockdown.
He told the panellists his dad was “really really not well” and remained in hospital.
Meanwhile, James took to Instagram and honoured his wife on Mother’s Day.
He penned: “And my two girls Ola and Ella. Happy Mothers Day Ola xxx.”
James accompanied the candid message with a sweet snap of his wife cradling the couple’s daughter.
