Vanessa Feltz, 59, has been engaged to Phats & Small singer Ben Ofoedu, 49, since 2006, but regrets not having a tryst with a woman before they got together. The This Morning star admits she was “bombarded” with offers from females when she was younger, and hosted a lesbian festival at the time.

She said: “I got absolutely bombarded.

“There were bosoms shoved in my face from all directions and now that I have had ample opportunity to reflect on these things, I wonder why I didn’t take advantage of the numerous offers that flooded in my direction.

“I was wrong, I was mad, it was absurd. I’m sorry, I regret it.

“I’ve been a gay icon for decades now, it’s embarrassing to admit how many.”

But Vanessa fears she has now missed the boat, because she feels too “well known” and no longer gets offers from women.

Vanessa, who earns £390,000 a year for her shows on BBC Radio 2 and Radio London, made the comments on the latest episode of the podcast A Gay And A Non Gay.

When hosts James Barr and Dan Hudson insisted it isn’t too late for her to have a lesbian experience, she admitted: “I know, but where am I going to get the offers these days?

“I’m working and I’ve got this partner. I’m very flamboyant, very well known, very heterosexual, very large, and quite prominent in many ways.

“I don’t think people would imagine that the avenue – my avenue, or cul de sac, or whatever you want to call it – was ever open to that kind of invitation.”

The outspoken TV and radio presenter recently spoke on how her libido is thriving.

She said that in lockdown, she and Ben had the most sex they have had in 15 years.

At the time, she said: “It is not like we’re doing anything else at the moment, so what the hell are we going to do if we’re not doing that?

“Also, we haven’t got kids at home anymore, so we really can do it whenever we want to.

“We don’t have to ask for anyone’s permission if we want to do whatever we want, in any room that we feel like doing it in, in any position we want to do it in, at any time of the day. And that is quite a nice feeling.”

Vanessa and Ben live in London in a Gothic style £3.5 million property, and inside it is an emporium of wonder.

The BBC radio presenter has shown off her abode during This Morning interviews, and while she doesn’t have her own Instagram account, Ben often shares a look inside the property.

In one of the more traditional spaces within the presenter’s home, she has a large in-built shelving unit, which is filled with books.

There is also a luxury arched mirror on the wall, and the couple have been pictured sitting on a white leather sofa.

During an Instagram video, fans got to see inside Vanessa’s dining room as Ben filmed a sweet clip prior to a lavish dinner party.

The tablescape featured four oversized floral centrepieces, as well as candelabras with flickering candles to add to the atmosphere.

The table was surrounded by ghost chairs and behind Vanessa, the room’s bold floral wallpaper was clear, as well as a luxury chaise longue – a further indicator of the presenter’s eclectic style.

In a Loose Women interview, the star revealed that she and her fiancé Ben have separate rooms at her home, and they stay in them five nights a week. For her, it is about adding “mystique” to the relationship, but she did admit that Ben has “visiting rights, anytime”.
