What does it take to date Hero Finneas Tiffin, or as I now prefer to call the 23-year-old actor, Hero Beauregard Faulkner Fiennes Tiffin? (Yes, that’s his real name, and yes, he’s very British.) While he was on a break from steaming up your screen as Hardin Scott in the After series, we chatted about his real-life date game and also…chess. And before you ask, I did, in fact, drool over his accent the entire time.
Let’s start off easy. What were you doing right before this?
I woke up very late. I’ve literally had a shower, got dressed, and chatted to my dad. I’m staying at home for a moment, trying to find a new place to rent.
Will this be your first all-by-yourself home?
I think I’m going to live alone, but I’m going to try and rent a place with a spare room for my sister.
Brother of the year! Speaking of having people over, what’s your go-to for a night in with, uh, a romantic friend?
We’re cooking. But I’m so indecisive, I’ll spend an hour thinking of what to cook. So I’ll have planned that before. And then, it sounds boring, but you’ve got to stick a movie in there and maybe a little card game or chess.
So you like to see a date’s competitive side?
One hundred percent. You get to know a certain side of them that way. It can get a bit intense.
Would you want to teach someone how to play? Like, in a cute way?
No. I’m the worst with that stuff.
Okay, so I’ll make sure to teach myself chess before we hang IRL.
