Heidi Klum, 47, Reveals Her Favorite ‘Low Impact’ Workouts To Keep Fit During Quarantine

So, that’s the secret to Heidi Klum’s success. The supermodel dished on how she’s kept off the ‘COVID 15’ during lockdown with these ‘low-impact,’ high-movement exercises.

Like many, Heidi Klum has been forced to alter her workout routine during the COVID-19 quarantine months. The former Project Runway star hasn’t set foot in a gym in like, forever, but you couldn’t tell that from looking at her Instagram. How has Heidi, 47, been able to keep off the pounds – the “COVID 15,” per Forbes – and stay so fit? “I’m fortunate enough to have a pool at home and, when the pandemic started, I began swimming 20 laps a day,” she told Women’s Health UK. “Low-impact exercise like this is much better for my joints than running on a treadmill.”

“Hula hooping is a great, low-impact option too – as is all the trampoline I do!” she told the publication (per Fox News). Heidi also does body-weight exercises, which include “lots of squads.” Along with swimming twenty laps a day, jumping on a trampoline, doing lots of squats, and hula hooping, Heidi also gets her steps in, courtesy of her family. “I get plenty of movement from running around after four children, two dogs, and a cat.”

Heidi said that if there’s been a silver lining to the quarantine: she’s been able to hang out more with her kids – Leni Samuel, 16, Henry Samuel, 15, Lou Samuel, 11, Johan Samuel, 14 – and husband, Tom Kaulitz. “I’ve relished the opportunity to spend more time at home with my family in recent months. Being on a plane and in the studio a lot less means I’ve been able to enjoy getting stuck into domestic tasks.” Among those tasks is her burgeoning green thumb. “I’ve started a little vegetable patch in my garden,” she said, adding that Heidi has “determined” not to have her kids spend all day on the Internet. “Seeing the squashes growing has been really fulfilling, and I have fun with the kids making squash muffins.”

Recently, the supermodel, America’s Got Talent judge, and uncrowned queen of Halloween showed off the effects of her low-impact workout while showing how good genes run in her family. Heidi posed alongside her mother, Erna Klum, and 16-year-old lookalike daughter, Leni. “In the studio with my Mom and Leni for Vogue Germany,” the Cologne native captioned the mirror selfie. Leni joined her mother on the cover of the magazine, prompting Heidi to gush over her oldest child online.

“I’m so proud of you. And not because you chose this path. I know that no matter which way you go, it will be your own,” Heidi wrote in German. “You always know exactly what you want and what you don’t want. You are not a mini-me. And I’m happy for you that you can now show who YOU are.”
