Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox have delighted fans with a Friends reunion as the trio came together to celebrate Courteney, 58, receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The three actresses have been close pals for almost 30 years, so it made sense for Jennifer, 54, and Lisa, 59, to speak at Courtney’s ceremony yesterday, Monday 27 February.
Courtney marks the 2,750th person to get a star, and was also joined by her 18 year old daughter Coco Arquette at the affair, as well as long-term partner Johnny McDaid.
Gushing about Courteney, Jennifer said while standing at the ceremony podium: “We're very honoured to be here today to speak on your behalf as your co-workers, your friends, and your family, your sisters. And that's happened since we've known you for a very long time.”
Lisa then pointed out they’d been friends for almost three decades after meeting in the 90s, to which Jennifer quipped: “Not 30 years ago. That’s a typo.”
The Good Morning America star continued to say: “To be friends with Courteney is to be family with Courteney. She is responsible for all of that. From the beginning of when we met her, she was immediately inclusive, warm, loving, interested in everything about you.”
Lisa added: “Courteney, we just want to say that we are deeply, deeply proud to know you. You are the definition of a truly beautiful, talented, and, what's most important, a truly good and decent human being… Thank you for enriching our lives personally.”
Big Little Lies star Laura Dern was also present at the affair.
Labelling getting a star was “surreal”, Courteney herself said: “This is just really surreal, because I’m from Birmingham, Alabama, and the only time that you see your name on a sidewalk is if you did it yourself with a stick and a wet cement."
She went on to thank her partner Johnny and paid tribute to her daughter Coco.
“Coco, you’re perfect,” she said.
“It’s not easy to grow up in this business, and I just want you to know you shine and you shine in your own unique light.
“I love you so much, I’m so proud of you. I’m proud to be your mom.”
Courteney shares her teenage daughter with ex husband David Arquette. The pair wed in 1999, but filed for divorce in 2012.
While they’re no longer together, the two actors are thought to have remained on good terms with one another.
