First Dates star Jordan Dunbar dies aged 29 as tributes pour in

First Dates star Jordan Dunbar has tragically passed away at the age of 29, his family have announced.

Sharing the sad news on social media, his family released a statement, which read: "He is predeceased by his loving mam Sharon and uncle Michael.

"He will be sadly missed by his loving dad Albert and Albert's brother and sisters, aunt Michelle, cousin Craig, his second family Gerry, Leeanne and Maria Nolan, his close friends Geena and Megan, relatives and a large circle of friends. May Jordan Rest In Peace."

Jordan was one of the first to appear on the popular dating series back in 2017 and then went on to present My Yellow Brick Road in 2019.

Production company Coco Content, who worked closely with Jordan over the years shared a tribute to the late TV star.

They wrote: "Our hearts our broken with the death of Jordan Dunbar, such a talented and beautiful person.

"We first met him on First Dates and he went on to present My Yellow Brick Road on RTE. He was a joy to work with & it was a privilege to know him. Deepest sympathy to all who loved him."

Those who were close to Jordan have also shared tributes to their late friend, with one writing: "Really saddened to hear that an old friend from Dublin, Jordan Dunbar (or Stunbar, as he’s gone by for the better part of a decade) has passed away. Truly a fantastic & lovely human being who will be sorely missed."

Another shared: "So very saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Jordan. A wonderful, kind and funny soul who gave the warmest hugs. I will miss seeing him on the scene. That’s two wonderful & talented gay men we have lost in our community this year – with in a matter of weeks."

"an angel [broken heart emoji]what an honour it was to be your friend. you may have been the sugababes biggest fan, but I was yours ilysm x" penned a third.

And a fourth added: "Such a lovely person, such a character! He had big dreams & aspirations for his life, especially in TV. I met him once at an industry event, we hit it off and laughed the entire time. May he R.I.P."

Irish TV channel RTE bosses added: "We are very sad to hear of the death of Jordan Dunbar. Jordan featured on First Dates Ireland and was also a presenter on the series My Yellow Brick Road. A wonderful talent, gone far too young. Our deepest sympathies to his loved ones."
