Sarah Ferguson, also known as Fergie, has opened up on her enduring friendship with ex-husband Prince Andrew and said she will always “stand firm" beside him– "whatever challenges he has.”
The former couple were married for 10 years, but divorced in 1996. Despite their split, Andrew and Fergie, who share daughters Princess Beatrice, 32, and Princess Eugenie, 31, have remained close friends throughout the years.
Speaking about starting a fresh chapter at the age of 61 in a new interview, Fergie also commented on the Duke of York’s recent media storm and insisted she will always stand by the father of her children.
Prince Andrew stepped back from being a senior royal in 2019, after increased scrutiny of his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The Duke has strenuously denied any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes as well as any involvement himself.
Fergie has said “Whatever challenges he has, I will stand firm to the co-parenters that we are together.
“I believe that he's a kind, good man,” she told People Magazine, not referencing the controversy directly.

Fergie is due to release her debut novel, a historical romance titled Her Heart as a Compass, in August.
The Duchess’s daughter Princess Eugenie regularly posts happy family snapshots of life as a royal with her sister Beatrice and mum and dad on Instagram.
In one collection of memories to honour Father’s Day, the mum-of-one shared an adorable image of her sharing a drink with her dad when she was little.

Andrew wore a casual blue polo top and cream trousers, while toddler Eugenie rocked a matching T-shirt and shorts set with her wild strawberry blonde hair taking hold.
“Happy Father's Day to my father and father-in-law and to all fathers celebrating today and everyday…Xx,” she captioned the post.
In her own birthday celebration post last year, the Princess shared a throwback image of her mum and dad at her Christening.
Eugenie was swaddled in a delicate cream blanket, while Eugenie wore a pink and white buttoned jacket for the occasion, as Prince Andrew matched in a pink satin polka dot tie.
