As the Wagatha Christie war between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy is set to wage on into the New Year, Coleen looked tense while out and about in Cheshire last week.

And now an insider has told new! magazine the WAG is feeling increasingly “stressed out” by the ongoing court proceedings.

The source revealed that while Coleen is putting on a brave face in public and getting on with her usual routine, she’s finding the case “all-consuming”.

“Coleen is very private. She’s got her head down doing daily stuff. She never wanted it to go this far and she’s feeling the strain,” the source explained.

“It’s a horrible time and she just wants to sort it out. You can’t switch off. Even though Coleen believes that she’s in the right, it’s hard not to worry.”

Still, the insider asserted that Coleen, 34, has no regrets about making her detective work public and believes the “truth will come out” in the end.

They said, “The whole thing is scary and horrible and a worry, but she wants the truth to be told and thinks it will always rise to the top.”

The source added that Coleen’s husband, Derby County interim manager Wayne Rooney, 35, has been with her every step of the way, despite the strain that a public court case could put on their marriage.

The source revealed, “Her husband and family have been really supportive. If anything, it’s made their relationship stronger.”

The feud between the two WAGs began last October when mum-of-four Coleen claimed she’d pulled off an elaborate sting operation to find out who’d been selling stories from her private Instagram account.

After blocking everyone except Rebekah’s account, Coleen explained how she planted false stories about her private life in an attempt to narrow down who’d been leaking information to the press.

In a tweet, Coleen claimed on Twitter, “It’s… Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

Rebekah, the wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, furiously denies the claims and is now suing Coleen for libel.

The mum-of-five has said the claims that have tarnished her reputation.

Earlier this month, Mr Justice Warby ruled that Coleen’s Instagram post pointed blame directly at Rebekah rather than a wider team and therefore Coleen’s lawyers would have to prove that Rebekah was solely responsible for the leaked stories.

New’s source claimed that Rebekah, 38, is feeling confident following her first win in the case and has been able to take her mind off everything with Dancing On Ice training.

But for Coleen, the strain of such a public battle appears to be taking its toll.

“They’re both strong and independent, but they’re very different,” the insider said.

“Coleen is more private, while Rebekah is doing photoshoots and prepping for Dancing On Ice.”

With the case having no end in sight, it looks as though both WAGS are in it for the long haul…
