Kylie Jenner‘s BFF Heather Sanders wants her followers’ help designing her next collection.
Sanders, 27, launched Sorella — a brand regularly worn by her reality-star bestie along with stars like Kim and Khloé Kardashian, Teyana Taylor, Karrueche Tran and more — in 2012 with co-founder Brittney Turner, using her social media following to turn their successful website into a brick-and-mortar shop on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.
And on Thursday, she announced the next stage of her company’s growth, launching a campaign in search of six young women to join the #GIRLSTOUR teen ambassador program.
The fashion designer is launching a national social impact campaign via a PSA on the brand’s YouTube channel, inviting girls to submit videos and essays to Instagram with the hashtag #IAmGirlsTour explaining why they should be chosen as Sorella ambassadors for their city — and ultimately join Sanders in designing a future collection for the label.
The social media star told Page Six Style exclusively that this project was inspired by “wanting to get to know the young women who support our movement. We started Girls Tour in hopes to inspire women all over the world from all different backgrounds; we’ve done that, and now we want to know their stories.”
Sanders also hopes the initiative will give young women “the opportunity to be leaders, be influential, make positive change in their communities and gain great mentorship,” as she herself is a self-made entrepreneur who launched her clothing line without a traditional fashion background.
“Fashion empowers me personally because it gives me a chance to express myself without speaking,” the mom of two says. “I can put on a suit and you’ll know that I’m a boss before I say anything, or I can wear a certain dress and instantly feel sexy.”
As for whether fans can expect a fashion collaboration with Kylie down the line? “Yes, that would be so cool!” Sanders exclaimed. “I’m open to do a collaboration with any of my friends, really.”
